Materials: polyester felt, polyester thread, metal buttons
This project was about creating a sneaker, based on market trends, that was made completely out of one piece of polyester felt. This specific fabric was not able to be manipulated by dye or bleach, so the only way to add color was through the use of colorful thread.
To start, I created a foot last out of chipboard based on a 3D scan of my own foot. With the foot last, I was able to turn my sketches into patterns out of tape. Those same patterns could then be transferred onto the felt.
